Bags are among the cheapest products in the storeroom and among those that cause the most small problems. Too small and it will not fold over the rim. Too thin and it tears on the way out. Too big and it is thrown away half empty.
01Start from the bin
Every bin has a capacity in litres, usually printed on the bottom. The bag should be a little larger, so it folds over the rim and does not slip inside. Measure your bins once, write down the sizes and keep the list with your order.
02Thickness
Thickness sets the strength. For paper, packaging and light office waste a thin bag is enough. For kitchens, with liquids and heavy leftovers, medium thickness is needed. For glass, rubble or branches, a heavy industrial bag. The thickest bag is not always the best one: it costs more and is often not needed.
03Colour and marking
Separate colours for recyclables and general waste make sorting obvious. In healthcare spaces the marking of clinical waste follows specific rules. Ask us before you order.
- Measure the bins in litres and note how many you have of each size.
- Choose thickness by the heaviest waste in the bin, not the most common.
- Order drawstring rolls for the kitchens. They tie quickly and do not drip.
- Keep one case of industrial bags for emergencies.
Nobody notices the right bag. That is the point.
